The roof of the new covered sports area at the Joaquin Herrera continues to leak every time it rains.
In February, it was also reported that the indoor swimming pool at the Sports Centre, IES Almijara and the municipal underground car park also suffer from similar problems regarding leakage. At the time, the Councillor for Sports, Andrés Márquez, apparently responded by blaming the Junta de Andalucia for the deficiencies in the completion of the various works as the Junta was responsible for the projects.
In the case of the Joaquin Herreira pavilion, which cost around €1 million to build, it was stated that the contractor had promised to fix the problem.
