A 38 year old woman in Madrid has been arrested after allegedly killing her four year old son and then attempting to commit suicide.
At around 13:00 on Saturday, Emergency Services arrived at a first floor apartment in avenida del Descubrimiento in the suburb of Torrejón de Ardoz to find four year old Rubén F.S. in cardiac arrest after having allegedly smothered with a pillow by his mother.
The mother, 38 year old Milagros S.G., had tried to end her own life by slashing her wrists and neck with a knife. She is now in a serious condition in the Hospital Príncipe de Asturias in Alcalá de Henares.
The woman was separated from her husband but it is not yet known whether she was suffering from any psychiatric abnormality.
