In the first half of 2011, Andalucia has registered a deficit of 1.49% of GDP putting it in sixth place in the list of communities showing a negative balance.
Ahead of Andalucia in the deficit list are Castilla-La Mancha (-4,16%) , Extremadura (-2,59%), Balearic Islands (-2,11%), Comunidad Valenciana (-1,92%) and Murcia (-1,82%).
The Secretary of State for Finances and Budgets has asked communities such as Andalucia, who exceed a figure of -0.75% of GDP, to assess the situation and implement measures to achieve stability.
