Political figures are not badly off

The financial situations of the two major presidential candidates, Rubalcaba (PSOE) and Rajoy (PP), are described as ‘not bad’ according to the declaration of assets made public by the Congress of Deputies.

Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba has funds – bank accounts, deposits, securities etc – of €984,281, is co-owner with his wife of an apartment in Madrid and bought a parking space in 1979. He has no debts, no mortgages and no loans.

Mariano Rajoy owns three apartments (Pontevedra, Madrid and Canarias), a house in Madrid and an office in Pontevedra. He has a total of €597,442 in bank accounts, saving funds etc. He does not own a vehicle and has no loans or debts.

So, just struggling along like the rest of us.
