Saturday September 17th is the Veladilla de San Miguel, the culmination of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the Barriada de Las Protegidas (the area around Plaza de Andalucia) and a host of events and activities are planned.
10:00 – Floral tribute with the Banda de Cornetas y Tambores
12:00 – Opening speech (pregón) by Haydée Acosta
13:00 – Election of the Reina y Caballero Infantil presented by Paco Haro followed by dancing by the dance academies Juan Torcuato and Cristian.
14:00 – Paella, courtesy of Ayo.
16:30 – Bicycle ribbon race
17:30 – Various games and activities.
18:30 – Dancing with the dance academies Daniel Romero, Belén and Elena
22:00 – Performances by various choirs: ‘Abanico e ilusiones’ of the Hermandad del Cautivo (Nerja), ‘Arena y Sal’ (Nerja), ‘Peña Nerjeña’ (Nerja), choir of the Hermandad de la Virgen del Carmen (Torre del Mar) and the Flamenco Choir ‘El Sarao’ (Nerja)
