An 80 year old woman has been found dead in her room in Madrid and her 42 year old son dead on the street below after a caller, assumed to be the son, called the police to say that if they went to the address they would find two bodies.
The woman had been asphyxiated in her bed and a belt was found next to her body. The son, the alleged perpetrator, was found on the street below having apparently jumped to his death. A letter was also found near the body of the victim.
Police are now investigating the incident which took place between 03:00 and 04:00 this morning.
