A 37 year old man died today after diving from the rocks into shallow water around the Paseo de los Carabineros, close to the Balcon de Europa. Another man was also injured.
A group of four Portuguese tourists were bathing and jumping from the rocks. The water, however, is very shallow and the man died after diving head first from the rocks, a height of about five metres. He died instantly.
Another man injured his leg while trying to rescue his friend. The accident occurred at around 13:00 today, Thursday February 23rd.
