Funding available for new Paseo de los Carabineros

Málaga Provincial Council has announced an investment of €437,000 to allow for the partial reopening of a short stretch of the Paseo de los Carabineros and to construct a path between La Caletilla and El Salon beaches.

Fatal accident near Carabeo beach

A 37 year old man died today after diving from the rocks into shallow water around the Paseo de los Carabineros, close to the Balcon de Europa. Another man was also injured.

The Department of Coasts has apparently committed to reopen at least one section of the Paseo de los Carabineros ‘before the summer’.

The Paseo de los Carabineros remains closed, but it is only blocked off at certain points and is used by many people to access some of the little coves between Calahonda and Carabeo beaches. Hopefully they will get round to re-opening it one day as it is a nice walk.
