Supersol to change hands

The distribution company Dinosol has signed an agreement to sell the supermarket chain Supersol in the Spanish peninsular to Agile Finance, the distribution arm of the Lithuanian chain Maxima. The deal is pending approval by the Monopolies Commission.

Supersol has over 200 stores, employees 4,500 people, posted sales of €578 million at the end of 2009 with a gross operating profit of €13 million. There are 69 stores in Málaga.

Agile Finance controls the Lithuanian Maxima chain of 225 establishments, 136 of them in Lithuania, 64 in Estonia and 42 in Bulgaria, employs 27,000 people. In 2011 it had a turnover of €2,200 million.
