Saturday was the inauguration of the artificial football pitch at the Los Arbolitos Sports Complex in Yunquera, the ceremony being attended by the President of the Provincial Council, Elías Bendodo, the delegate of Culture and Sport, Marina Bravo, regional delegate Susana Radío and the Mayor of Yunquera,, José Antonio Víquez.
The project cost €1,159,154 and was financed by the regional, provincial and municipal authorities under the Sports Facilities Plan.
The new football pitch forms part of the Los Arbolitos Sports Complex and the project included the building of changing facilities, a grandstand for 1,000 people and a kiosk. The complex also includes a mini-basketball court, climbing wall, paddle tennis court and a recreation area with barbecues.
The facility uses solar power for reduced energy consumption and costs and has an automatic sprinkler system for easy maintenance.
