Torrox Council has begun a campaign to try and obtain the cooperation of residents in keeping the town clean, especially relating to the removal of animal excrement from the thoroughfares.
The campaign has started with the distribution of leaflets, pooper-scoopers and plastic bags to encourage pet owners to cooperate. Pet shops and veterinary clinics have been the initial targets for the distribution of the materials.
The fine for failing to remove the excrement of one’s pet in Torrox is €150.
