There is always someone waiting to take advantage of a situation, and in Archidona, where the water has been declared unfit for human consumption, one woman has apparently been making the most of the situation.
The woman has been visiting a number of the 9,000 residents currently without drinkable water on the pretext of being from the Water Authority and informing them that she is testing the quality and colour of the water .
She then convinces her victims to purchase a ‘softener’ which will completely resolve the problems relating to the water.
The Council is warning residents that at no time will officials from a public body enter a house to test the water and in any case, a ‘softener’ will not resolve the problem.
Meanwhile, the Local Police are trying to trace the woman.
