Monday October 1st is International Day of Older Persons and the Council will be celebrating with a film at the Nerja Cultural Centre in calle Granada followed by a symposium and snacks. Entry is free for seniors.
The film will deal with aspects relating to the elderly and starts at 17:30.
On 14 December 1990, the United Nations General Assembly (by resolution 45/106) designated 1 October the International Day of Older Persons. The theme of the 2012 commemoration is “Longevity: Shaping the Future”.
