On Friday October 5th at 20:00 in the Nerja Museum there is a presentation of a new book relating to La Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias in Plaza de la Ermita and the frescoes decorating the walls and ceiling of this convent.
The book, appropriately entitled ‘La Ermita de Nuestra Señora de las Angustias de Nerja y sus pinturas murales’ is the work of doctor of history and art and professor at the IES Chaparil Francisco Capilla Luque and Estrella Arcos von Haartman, professor at the University of Málaga and director of Quibla Restaura S.L, the company responsible for the restoration of the murals in the period 2004 to 2005.
The book also contains a foreword by Rosario Camacho Martínez, Professor of Art History at the University of Málaga, and it will be on sale in the Nerja Museum shop for €10.
The book chronicles the history of this Baroque church over the centuries as well as detailing the restoration work on the murals and frescoes which began in 2004.
The presentation on Friday will be attended by the authors, Francisco Capilla Luque and Estrella Arcos von Haartman, professor Rosario Camacho Martínez, the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo and the manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ruiz.
