Vélez-Málaga Council has started a project to repaint road markings in the municipality and renew and replace street furniture, rubbish bins and other items. The project has an investment of €184,910.42 and is being funded, naturally, through the Programme for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment (PROFEA).
According to the Council, the project has resulted in the hiring of five officials for a period of three months (300 working days) and 80 labourers for two weeks each (800 working days).
In Torre del Mar the repainting involves the paseo marítimo, avenida Del sol, Cipriano Maldonado, Dostor Fleming, San Martín and Infantes, In Vélez-Málaga the work will be carried out in avenida Pablo iglesias, Vivar Téllez, Las Naciones, Herreros and Alfareros.
The work is currently expected to be completed in May 2013.
