A 22 year old Ecuadorian national has been arrested in Madrid on charges of stabbing his 15 year old Spanish girlfriend. The girl is currently in hospital.
On Saturday, the girl and her boyfriend arrived at a hospital where the girl was treated for several stab wounds, including to her side. When questioned together, they both said the girl had been attacked the night before, but when questioned separately, the girl told police officers that her boyfriend had attacked her.
The pair, along with several other people, shared a house in calle de Francisco Paíno. The incident occurred when the girl said she wanted to leave the house, something her boyfriend opposed. They argued and he stabbed her several times.
One of the detainee’s roommates hid the knife used in the attack but police officers searching the premises found it in the washing machine. The knife had traces of the girl’s blood on it.
The detainee has a history of burglary, assaulting officials and abuse.
