Local Police officers surprised two men who were trying to carry off steel water pipes in calle Mirto. The pipes belong to the local water company Aguas de Narixa and the company has reported a number of thefts recently.
The two men were identified as being from Málaga, with one having a record for drug trafficking and theft. The men had parked a lorry next to the stack of pipes, although it was empty at the time as presumably they had only just started their endeavours.
When asked what they were doing carrying the pipe, they reportedly replied that they were just ‘testing its weight’.
