Eighteen people have been arrested in Madrid, Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) and Seseña (Toledo) in connection with the theft of vehicles and their subsequent shipment to Poland for resale.
The vehicles, specifically two mid-range SEAT models, were stolen in Madrid and Guadalajara, many of them dismantled and shipped to Poland where there is a ready market for such vehicles. Those that weren’t dismantled were manipulated to simulate repaired cars and then shipped.
Raids on ten houses revealed 20 stolen vehicles, some half dismantled, as well as numerous engines and other parts thought to belong to stolen vehicles. Also seized were tools for stealing cars, fake documents, €20,000 in cash, computers and various other items.
