About one-third of the way along the promenade at Ferrara Playa, Torrox Costa, from the lighthouse end, is the restaurant La Mar Chica, and behind the restaurant, but part of it, is a quaint little tapas bar.
I had a mussel tapa – seven mussels, onion, green and red peppers, olives – and, served cold, it was very refreshing in the heat. The tapas bar area is suitably shaded.
Unlike in Nerja and many other places, the tapas in most of Torrox Costa are not included in the price of the drinks. The drinks themselves are cheaper – €1 or €1.25 for a small beer – but with the tapas at €1 it makes the whole a bit more expensive. So, €2 for a beer and tapa compared to €1.40 to €1.80 in Nerja.
