Council demanding explanations from the Junta de Andalucía on POTAX investments

The Council is asking the Junta de Andalucía to meet its obligations under the Plan de Ordenación del Territorio de la Costa del Sol Axarquía, POTAX, in which over 500 million euros are supposed to be destined for the district of the Axarquía.

A Council motion asks for the creation of a Monitoring Commission which will be in charge of providing information about progress with the investment program.

The total to be invested in the Axarquía was set at 526,4 million euros and should have started in 2006, but to date the Junta de Andalucia has apparently not provided a single euro.

The object of the Council motion is to try and prompt the Junta de Andalucía to explain why none of the projects from the last 7 years have even been started. One imagines no-one will be holding their breath waiting for a response.
