Hefty fines for unauthorised sand sculptures in Rincón de la Victoria

Rincón de la Victoria Council is set to approve the definitive municipal ordinance which prohibits the construction of large sand sculptures on the beach without prior approval, with fines of up to €750.

Presumably prior approval means paying a municipal tax in order to obtain permission to build such structures. There are a number of artists who make a living from creating what are, in many cases, magnificent sculptures.

The good news is that children will still be able to build sand castles. For the time being at least
