Almost 300 people completed the annual Half League race on Burriana beach at the weekend. One league equals 5.556 kilometres.
The race is in honour of Ayo – Francisco Ortega Olalla – one of the pioneers of athletics in Nerja as well as renowned paella maker. The overall winners were Esther Hidalgo of the Cueva de Nerja-Uma in the female category and the Swiss athlete El Abed Driss in the male category.
