A seven-storey apartment block in calle Alameda de Capuchinos, Málaga, had to be evacuated in the early hours of Wednesday morning following a fire on the second floor.
The fire began at around 12:45 and smoke quickly spread to the upper floors, causing the preventative evacuation of the whole block.
Two people, occupants of the apartment where the fire began, needed treatment at the scene for smoke inhalation.
About an hour later, residents were allowed to return to their homes, apart from the two people from the affected apartment who were relocated to a hotel.
