As part of the Curriculum of the National School of Trainers, those completing the course will receive a certification allowing them to work as a basketball coach.
The course will begin on Saturday, April 7 at the facilities of the Municipal Sports Centre of Nerja and will take place on April 7, 8, 14 and 15.
During the course, prospective coaches will learn four basic areas of basketball management.
- Basketball player training
- Basketball training sciences
- Attack and defence tactics
- Team management
Basketball is a huge sport in Spain with the National team making it to the Gold Medal Game of 2008 Beijing Olympics where they narrowly lost to the USA “Dream” Team that contained LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony.
Spain meanwhile continues to dominate European basketball thanks to all coaches needing to be properly trained and certified by the Spanish Basketball Federation.
