The former Codfather in avenida Mediterraneo, Nerja, will be reopening shortly as the Mesón Asador La Castilla. In some ways it has been good to see, throughout this continuing financial crisis, that as soon as one place closes down, another opens.
Ninfas open for business
Ninfas, the new Italian cafe/restaurant in Plaza la Marina, Nerja, is now open for business. It is a reasonable size inside, has entrances on Plaza La Marina and calle Chaparil and has a small terrace in the square.
Cafe Paris
The Cafe Paris on calle Chaparil, a few doors down from the Hotel Bajamar, is now open for business. Spacious inside and a small street terrace.
Tea and muffin
The fruit muffin at the Good Stuff, at the junction of avenida Castilla Perez and calle San Miguel, Nerja, really is a tasty creation.
Tasty tapas at La Bodeguilla
La Bodeguilla in calle Antonio Millón, Nerja, remains one of the best tapas bars in town. Great range of dishes, friendly atmosphere, good terrace with the barrels and real value for money. Tapas plus olives plus small beer, €1.90.
Cold beer at La Alacena de mi Fernando
Popped in to La Alacena de mi Fernando on avenida Mediterraneo, Nerja, for the first time in a while. Still a very nice place to sit and watch the world go by but was a bit disappointed to find that a beer was now €2.25 and tapas are no longer included with a drink and are extra at €2 each.

Coffee and cake at Moin Moin
The small Moin Moin German bakery and café in calle Dr Fleming, Nerja, is also a nice little place to stop for a coffee and a piece of cake, a reasonable selection always on offer.
Fruitcake and tea at The Good Stuff
I have slowly been sampling all the cakes at The Good Stuff on the corner of avenida Castilla Perez and calle San Miguel in Nerja. Someone has to do it.
Romeo and Giulietta
A new Italian restaurant Romeo and Giulietta is due to open before too long in calle Cristo, at the junction with calle San José. This was the former premises of Sollun and numerous others.
