The second series of horse races on the beach at Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) are under way with more races to follow on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first series of races took place between August 12th and 14th.
Body recovered at Marbella beach
The body of a man was recovered on Saturday evening in the waters off playa Venus in Marbella, just in front of the Hotel El Fuerte. A member of the public discovered the lifeless body floating in the sea and notified the authorities.

The body of a 71 year old woman was found on Sunday near the Castillito breakwaters at playa de La Puntilla in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz province. The woman, initials M.B.S., was a resident of El Puerto de Santa Maria.
Swimmer drowns in Salobreña
A 70 year old man died on Salobreña beach on Friday evening, the second fatality at the beach within twenty-four hours.
16 year old youth drowns in Tarifa
A 16 year old boy died this afternoon after being swept out to sea at playa de Los Lances in Tarifa, Cádiz province.
Man drowns in Estepona
A 71 year old man drowned on Saturday afternoon at a beach in Estepona. His lifeless body was found by the water’s edge in front of a hotel at km 164 on the carretera de Cádiz. All attempts to revive the man failed.

The beautiful weather continues, although it is now a lot cooler in the evenings and a sleeve is the order of the day once it starts to get dark. Plenty of people still sunning themselves on the beaches, and venturing into the water. Must be good for the local economy.
Two men drown in Almuñecar
Two men, aged 45 and 75 years, died yesterday while swimming in the sea in Almuñecar, Granada province, during heavy seas caused by strong winds.
