Pressure from the citizens of Cádiz and the media, described by the union representative as ‘brutal’, has moved the workers at the cleaning concessionaire to call off their indefinite strike after five days.

Nursing home fraud in Cádiz province

Four directors of various nursing homes in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Jerez and San  Fernando in Cádiz province have so far been charged with fraudulently using the electronic health cards of deceased people for the purpose of obtaining drugs from pharmacies.

Body of police officer recovered

Guardia Civil officers have recovered the body of an off duty National Police officer who was last seen trying to rescue two bathers who got into difficulties on El Palmar beach in Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz province.

One week strike in Barbate

A one week strike has begun in all municipal services in Barbate, Cádiz. The nearly 300 workers are protesting at not having been paid at all so far this year. The Department of Employment has set minimum service levels.
