Car sales down in February

Overall sales of new cars fell 9.8% in February 2013 when compared to the same month last year. Sales during the first two months of 2013 were 108,048 units, down by 9.7%, according to the manufacturers’ association ANFAC, the association of dealers FACONAUTO and the association of sellers GANVAM.

Car registrations in October were 44,873 units, down by 21.7% over the same month in 2011. Year to date, 600,237 cars and SUVs have been sold, a decrease of 11.9% compared with the same period last year.

Car registrations in October were 57,278 units, a 6.7% decrease compared to October 2010 and the worst October figures in history.

Car sales for July, traditionally the best month of the year, were down by 4% at 78,913 units when compared to the same month last year. To put things in perspective, July 2010 was a particularly bad month.

Car sales for September were 56,595 units according to the manufacturers’ (Anfac) and sellers association (Ganvam), down 26.9% on the corresponding month last year.

New car registrations during August were 44,578 units, a decrease of 23.8% when compared to the same month last year and the lowest figure since records began in 1989. Year to date, sales of cars and SUV’s is 730,906 units, an increase of 21.9% over 2009.

Car sales in July were down by 24.1% compared to the same month last year, ending ten consecutive months of growth.

November vehicle sales down in Andalucía

Sales of 4×4’s in Andalucía during November fell by 63.5% compared to the same month last year, a good ten per cent above the national average. Car sales in Andalucía also slumped, falling by 53.5 % compared to last year.
