Torrox to finally begin preservation of Roman ruins

The 3rd Century AD Roman remains near the lighthouse in Torrox Costa are considered to be some of the most archeologically important ruins along the Málaga coast, yet they have been sadly neglected through administrative and financial problems.

PSOE critical over status of Vocational Training Centre project

The opposition PSOE has criticised the Nerja government regarding the status of the project to create a vocational training centre in the Barriada de los Poetas area of the town, saying that it is just one more example of the lack of commitment, economic waste, idleness and violation of electoral promises by the PP mayor, José Alberto Armijo.

Torrox building works over budget

The two major projects in Torrox financed under the First State Investment Plan, more commonly known as the Plan Zapatero, have both suffered long delays and will ultimately cost around €184,000 more than was anticipated.

AVE service back on track

The AVE high speed train services between Madrid and Sevilla and between Málaga and Barcelona have been restored as of 09:45 this morning.

Torrox building works delays

Torrox Council has been forced to ask the Ministry of Public Administration for an extension to two building projects under the Primer Plan Estatal de Inversión Local or ‘Plan Zapatero’ as it is more often known, these being the renovation of Plaza de la Constitución and improvements to the promenade at Ferrara Playa.
