6,405,200 people are eligible to vote on Sunday in the elections in Andalucia to elect 109 deputies from the 33 political parties at the 10,351 polling stations in 3,871 electoral colleges. The results should be known at 21:30.

New corporations assume their duties

Torrox struggling to find a government

The municipality of Torrox is trying to sort out who will govern following the recent elections, an initial meeting between the PSOE, the largest party, and the IU to discuss a pact having floundered due to the IU condition that the PSOE leader, Francisco Muñoz, and four other socialists must resign.

José Pérez to be mayoral candidate for Torrox

José Pérez, who was mayor of Torrox from 1992 to 1992 as an IU member, has announced that he will be running for mayor at the next elections as a PSA candidate. After his first stint as an IU mayor, José Pérez disappeared from the political scene for a few years before returning in 2007 as leader of the PSA.

Mayor of Torrox not seeking re-election

The Mayor of Torrox, Toñi Claros (IU), has stated that she will not be seeking re-election in May 2011 and will be replaced by Antonio Toro, the current coordinator of the IU.
