On Friday, the Nerja Council completed the process of gaining title to the plots of land behind the old slaughterhouse in calle Ingenio in preparation for the building of the new Health Centre.

According to the Councilor for Urbanism, Inocencia Quintero, next week should see the signing of the deeds of assignment relating to the land to be used for the site of the new Health Centre.

Two Colombians were arrested in Torre del Mar following a disturbance at the local Health Centre. The two men were fighting and when the police intervened to separate them, one of them began assaulting the officers. Health Department quickly rejects 3 sites proposed for the new health centre
The Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía has fairly quickly rejected three of the four sites proposed by the Council for the construction of a new health centre. As expected, the Giner de los Rios Centre was rejected due to its location in the centre of town and the narrowness of the roads.
New Health Centre looking further away all the time
The Nerja Council has referred to the Health Department of the Junta de Andalucía a list of possible sites for a new Health Centre in the town. There are now four possible sites, the Council having carefully whittled this down from the original choice of two plots of land!
