The Cueva de Nerja-UMA Athletics Club are a dominant force in regional athletics and they proved this once more on Saturday in the Andalucia Absolute Championships, winning a total of 29 medals, 10 of them of the gold variety.

Local swimmer Paola González Martín collected two medals at the Winter Swimming Championships held at the municipal pool in Torre del Mar at the weekend.
Three golds and one silver for Lourdes María Herrero Centurión
At the XXIX Campeonato de Andalucía Alevín de Natación, held in C’adiz, local swimmer Lourdes María Herrero Centurión claimed three gold medals and one silver.
Silver and bronze for Nerja swimmers
A total of 384 swimmers from 23 Andalucian clubs took part in the VI Tomás García Tamudio Memorial Trophy in Málaga and there were medals for two Nerja swimmers.

At the XXII Campeonato de Andalucía de Natación Alevín de Invierno held in Jaén at the weekend, local Municipal Swimming Club members Lourdes María Herrero Centurión and Paola González Martín claimed a total of ten medals between them.

At the Andalucia Athletics Championships held in Nerja over the weekend, the Club Nerja de Atletismo-Cueva de Nerja-UMA came away with a magnificent total of 42 medals, with 14 being of the gold variety.
Medals for Nerja’s young swimmers
The IV Open Tomás García Zamudio swimming tournament took place over the weekend at the Centro Acuático in Málaga and there were three medals for young swimmers from Nerja, one gold and two silvers. Francisco Javier Reinoso Huertas won gold in the 50 metres breaststroke, Lourdes María Herrero Centurión won silver in both the 100 metres breaststroke and 100 metres freestyle.

A very good performance by the Nerja Athletics Club at the Absolute Andalucia Indoor Championships in Antequera on Sunday with 9 gold medals, 10 silver and 3 bronze.
