Easter prisoner release tradition continues

On Easter Sunday, April 8th, the Brotherhood of Jesús Resucitado y María Santísima de la Asunción in collaboration with the Prison Ministry will once again arrange the for release of a prisoner, a tradition which began in Nerja eight years ago and has so far seen ten inmates released back into society.

The religious brotherhood Cofradía de la Sentencia and the Colegio de Abogados (Bar Association) in Vélez-Málaga have arranged that a local resident currently in prison can serve out the rest of his sentence as a Category Three prisoner.

Two prisoners to be released for Easter

For the first time, the religious brotherhood ‘Cofradía de Jesús Resucitado y María Santísima de la Asunción’ has arranged for the release of two prisoners as part of the traditional Holy Week celebrations and both will take part in the Easter Sunday procession.
