The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has carried out repairs to the A-343 between Antequera and El Valle de Abdalajís to allow use once more by heavy vehicles, including school buses. The road was affected by the recent storms.
Grant for improvements to a dozen rural roads
Torrox Council is proposing to spend €250,000 on renovating about a dozen rural roads in the municipality with a grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Junta de Andalucia, the Council only having to pay the IVA.
Junta de Andalucia approves restoration of area damaged by fire in Málaga province
The Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucia has approved ‘urgent’ restoration activities in the area affected by the recent forest fire in Málaga province and is requesting financial assistance from the European Catastrophe Fund, as happened earlier following fires on La Gomera and Valencia.
Repairs needed to ‘La Dorada’
After carrying out an inspection of the boat ‘La Dorada’ in the Parque Verano Azul, the Council is seeking estimates from various companies to carry out necessary repairs to this emblematic vessel.
Repair work on the Balcón de Europa
Work is currently in progress around the base of the Norfolk Island Pine in front of the iglesia El Salvador on the Balcón de Europa.
Rural roads repaired around Campillos
A total of 14 kilometres of rural roads around Campillos have now been repaired, these including 5 km on the way to Lobón, 2 km between Campillos and Fuente de Piedra, 1 km between Campillos and Osuna, 1 km of the camino del Baño Castillo and 5 km of the camino Vallehermoso.
Council once again requesting repairs to rural tracks
The Council is once again requesting the Ministry of Environment of the Junta de Andalucia to carry out repairs to the tracks leading to El Pinarillo and Fuente del Esparto, although one would imagine that the chances of action, particularly with the elections coming up, are slim at best.
Rubbish containers being repaired
The Department of Cleaning and Urban Ecology has started to repair some of the underground rubbish containers, some having deteriorated over time, others having been vandalised.
Repairs to MA-3111 in Comares
Work has begun to repair the MA-3111 access road to Comares, including renewal of a retaining wall at km 7.4 and drivers will have to find alternative routes to Benamargosa and Ríogordo. The repairs are costing €112,700 and are being financed through provincial funds.
Repairs to Álora access road
Work has started to temporarily repair the northern access route to Álora, closed due to serious winter storm damage.
