Torrecilla beach still ‘Q’ rated

The ‘Q’ for Quality status has been renewed for Torrecilla beach in Nerja, the award issued by the Institute for Quality Tourism in Spain and valid for two years. Burriana beach, one of the first in Andalucia to receive the award, saw its ‘Q’ status renewed last year.

A glorious January day…

Glorious day, a nice surprise as half of the country seems to be on some sort of alert for bad weather, and quite a few people down on Torrecilla beach. One actually braving the water!

Sunny but windy…

Sunny day but a fair old wind and quite ‘invigorating’ at times, although it didn’t stop some people sprawling out on the beach.

On a glorious October day…

An absolutely glorious day in Nerja with clear skies, sun, calm seas and a lot of people milling around town today, particularly on the Balcon de Europa. Torrecilla, Calahonda, El Salon and La Caletilla beaches were also quite busy and quite a few people were enjoying a dip. Brrrr. Don’t know about Burriana, didn’t get down that far.

Still busy on the beaches…

Still plenty of people heading down to the beaches to take advantage of the glorious weather at the moment. Could be a few strikers amongst them I suppose. The sea is very calm at the moment and almost crystal clear, no sign of any gunk, residual waters or whatever the correct current terminology is.

On the rocks…

Had a nice wander along the rocky promontory at the end of Torrecilla beach, a great place to relax away from the general hubbub (apparently one of the few words of Celtic origin to be incorporated in the English language). Yesterday, although the beach was packed, there was no-one on the rocks, not even fishermen. Most unusual.

Let’s play sardines…

It may be cloudy today but there are plenty of people down on Torrecilla beach. Quite packed.

Torrecilla beach, July 9th 2010

Quite busy down on Torrecilla beach yesterday with good bathing conditions and almost crystal clear water. The cleaning boat was also chugging up and down the beach, so close to shore at times that it looked like it might end up scooping up a few bathers, particularly snorkellers.
