Guardia Civil officers in Nerja have arrested four Moroccan nationals who were stealing mopeds, falsifying the paperwork and then selling them in Morocco.
The four men, aged between 23 years and 43 years, had been stealing mopeds and scooters from all over the place, not just in Nerja. Documentation was found relating to thefts in Valencia, Madrid and Málaga.
The men were spotted loading several mopeds into a van. When asked for documentation relating to the vehicles, it transpired that none could show ownership of any of them and the four men were detained. Further investigation revealed the extent of their little operation. Eleven licenses were discovered, nine of which were forgeries.
