Ertzaintza, the Basque police, have arrested alleged ETA members Gurutz Aguirresarobe Pagola and Aitziber Ezkerra Segurajauregi in the town of Hernani, Guipúzcoa.
Aguirresarobe is suspected of being responsible for the assassination of police officer Joseba Pagazaurtundua on February 8th 2003 in the town of Andoain.
Joseba Pagazaurtundua was drinking coffee in the Daytona bar in Andoain when a man approached and fired four shots into him, ending his life. The crime has remained unsolved but the police are convinced that Gurutz Aguirresarobe Pagola id the assassin.
The second detainee, Aitziber Ezkerra Segurajaureg, was the girlfriend of Aguirresarobe at the time of the shooting.
