Fifty-eight illegal immigrants have failed to sneak into Spain after being intercepted about 10 miles north of the isla de Alborán.
The immigrants, including three women and a baby, were travelling in a small dinghy and were spotted at around 16:30. Two helicopters were deployed and the dinghy was eventually intercepted by the Marine Rescue vessel ‘Salvamar Hamal’ and towed to the port of Motril.
All the passengers were said to be in good health.
