Photos of actress Paz Vega posing semi-naked in front of the image of the Virgen de la Encarnación in Gerena, Sevilla, have caused a bit of a stir amongst the local population.
Most seem to deem the photos disrespectful to the patron saint and to religion, although there are some, naturally, who defend the photos as being artistic. Others wonder what the actress will do next for a bit of publicity.
The Brotherhood who maintain the shrine and the image, and therefore the ones who would decide whether such a photo shoot would take place on their premises, have so far refused to comment on the incident.
Some of the photos are destined to be included in a calendar for the German chocolate company Lambertz. What else?
