The Municipal Council for Tourism, involving all parties, has been meeting to discuss a number of issues concerning Nerja, such as the development of El Playazo and participation in the FITUR tourism exhibition.
Nerja intends to continue its participation in the FITUR exhibition, once again sharing with the Costa del Sol Tourist Board and also once again featuring ‘Carnaval’ as a major part of its promotion.
Also of concern is whether the decree banning development within 500 metres of the coastline will have a negative impact on apparently agreed development plans at El Playazo, including the construction of hotels.
The development of El Playazo, both the beach and the construction of hotels, is viewed as being the ‘future of Nerja’.
