La Andaluza in Plaza La Marina is a fairly new addition to the tapas and restaurant scene in Nerja and markets itself as a ´low cost’ establishment.

A quick eatery round-up

The Al Istanbul restaurant halfway up calle Cristo has gone and is now Crepe Bréton, Bar Caeli in calle Rodrigues Acosta is closed and is in the process of being refurbished, work is going on in the former Rafiki’s Bar in calle Fray Junipero Serra and L’Essence in calle Los Huertos has closed after only a relatively short time in existence.

Gambas at La Marina

La Marina in Plaza La Marina, Nerja, remains one of the best fish tapas bars in town, hence it is usually packed at several times during the day.

Tapas at Pio Pio

Popped in to Pio Pio for the first time and I must say it is an excellent tapas bar. It is located at the top of calle San Miguel, Nerja, opposite both Plaza Cantarero and the Bus Station.

Dinner at Maria Bonita

Went for a celebratory meal at Maria Bonita in Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos, Nerja, and it did not disappoint, the restaurant continuing to maintain high standards….and huge portions.

Cherry cake at Jacky’s

Just happened to be passing Jacky’s on avenida Castilla Perez, Nerja, and couldn’t resit sampling this delicious looking cake.
