The marina is back in the news

The AEN (Employers Association in Nerja) is convinced that the future marina will be built in Nerja and not in Torrox as announced recently by the Ministry of Environment.

Tourism meeting

Broncano to step down as AEN president

Gabriel Broncano, socialist Mayor of Nerja from 1987 to 1995, is stepping down as president of the Association of Employers (AEN) in January 2011, citing the lack of support of the PP government in solving problems as his main reason. Broncano took up the post in September 2008.

AEN and the marina

The Asociación de Empresarios de Nerja (AEN) has expressed ‘great satisfaction’ at the announcement that the proposed marina will be located in Nerja, although the satisfaction is tempered with caution.

AEN requests withdrawal of legal proceedings

The AEN (Asociación de Empresarios de Nerja) is asking the Council to withdraw legal proceedings against the Nerja Museum relating to possible irregularities in the financing of the last phase of the project. Sports tourism initiative

The AEN and the Council have approved a cooperation agreement, to be signed shortly, whereby hotel guests will be able to avail themselves of municipal sports facilities, an initiative designed to promote sports tourism.

AEN asks for stricter control of catering establishments

The AEN (Asociación de Empresarios de Nerja – Nerja Business Association) has asked the Council to exercise increased control over catering establishments that are only supposed to be open during the summer months, particularly those run by foreigners.
