Not a smooth start to new fishing agreement

Despite a new fishing agreement between the EU and Morocco finally being in place, for which Morocco receives €40 million, many Cádiz fishermen have once more had to return to port without being able to carry out their task.

Council to sign agreements with consumer associations

The Council has approved the signing of agreements with three consumer associations for 2013, these being the Association of Consumers and Housewives Al-Andalus, the Association of Consumers in Action Facua-Málaga and the Consumers Union of Malaga-UCE.

Jerez strike could end today

The workers’ council has agrred adeal with the management of Urbaser, the cleaning concessionaire in Jerez de la Frontera which, after approval by the employees later today, will see an end to the strike and the rubbish cleared from the streets of the city tonight.

Strike in Armilla called off

The strike by employees of the cleaning company in Armilla, Granada, is over, at least temporarily, after the Council and the cleaning company agreed to provide €2 million to pay the forty workers who have not been paid since August. The agreement must be fulfilled before next week otherwise the strike will resume.

Aguas de Archidona begin operating on Friday

The new company Aguas de Archidona, a joint venture between the Municipal Council (52%) and Aqualia (48%), takes over control of the municipal water supply as from tomorrow, Friday.

Job creation agreement in Torrox

Torrox Council has signed an agreement with the telemarketing company Telefónica Buscfonía whereby the Council will provide a number of facilities in exchange for the company creating around 40 jobs.

USCA and AENA reach an agreement

The Union of Air Traffic Controllers, USCA, and the Airport Authority, AENA, have signed a basic agreement which removes the threat of industrial action and paves the way for further talks.

Representatives of Nerja Council, the Market Traders Association and the Union CC.OO have signed an agreement which should see progress towards the return of a market to the town.
