Three arrested in connection with illegal immigration

National Police officers have arrested three Algerian nationals for allegedly organising and manning a boat trip from Algeria with 23 illegal immigrants on board, each having paid around €500 for the privilege.

Another 22 illegal immigrants arrive in Almeria

Two boats have been intercepted off the Almeria coast with a total of twenty-two illegal immigrants on board, all of whom are now enjoying the hospitality of the National Police in Almeria port.

25 Algerians intercepted off the Almeria coast

A boat carrying 25 Algerians, presumably trying to sneak into Andalucia for the San Isidro celebrations, was intercepted on Tuesday evening about four miles east of Mesa Roldán in the municipality of Carboneras, Almería province. The passengers were taken to the port of Motril where the National Police and Red Cross were on hand to provide further assistance.

Illegal immigrants intercepted off the Nerja coast

A boat carrying 17 people was intercepted last night about 40 miles off the Nerja coast, the passengers having inadvertently forgotten to pack any documentation before setting out from North Africa on their travels.

50 illegal immigrants intercepted off Tarifa

A small boat carrying over 50 illegal immigrants, including at least ten minors and a number of pregnant women, has been intercepted this morning in the Straits of Gibraltar.
