Algeciras Local Police get electric scooters

The Local Police in Algeciras have just taken delivery of twenty-one electric scooters which will reduce energy consumption, reduce costs and result in a reduction of 20 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year.

Policing in Torrox once again criticised

Policing in the town of Torrox has been a bone of contention for some time, including the farcical situation at last October’s feria when the police presence was virtually non-existent.

Addition to Local Police force

The Local Police force in Nerja has been increased by one with the arrival of Celestino Haro, on secondment from Salobreña. A number of local dignitaries were on hand to welcome him to his new assignment.

Torrox feria fiasco

The secretary general of the Union of Local Police and Fire Brigade Malaga (UPLBA), Francisco Corpas, has issued a press statement regarding the recent situation in Torrox whereby, during the feria, a local security company had to be hired to guard the police headquarters due to the majority of officers reporting sick.

PSOE demand resignation of Torrox Mayor

The secretary general of the PSOE in Torrox, Francisco Muñoz, has demanded the resignation of the mayor of the town, Antonia Claros (IU), and Councillor for Citizen Security, Manuel Palomas (PP), following the farcical situation with the Local Police force which led to a private security company having to be hired to guard the Police Headquarters.

And , as if by magic, the police return to their regular spot at the junction of avenida Castilla Perez and calle Diputación for a bit of ‘traffic management’. Looked like they had the new PDA’s for speedier ticket production – they only took delivery of them yesterday!
