The Nerja Caves, where time stops

To commemorate the 55th anniversary of the discovery of the Nerja Caves, the Nerja Caves Foundation has produced a video entitled, ‘The Nerja Caves, where time stops’.

New track to link the Nerja Caves and Maro village

When work began on the botanical gardens in the grounds of the Nerja Caves, the old road/track between the Caves and the village of Maro was demolished. It was decided to build a bridge over the highway to connect the two areas.

55th anniversary of the Nerja Caves

Sunday January 12th 2014 is the 55th anniversary of the discovery of the Nerja Caves and at noon, a new memorial will be inaugurated at the original entrance to the caves. This will take place at noon. Further celebratory events are planned.

XIII Science Week at the Nerja Caves

As part of the XIII Science Week, the Nerja Caves will be the location for two free activities aimed at popularising science and knowledge.

French researchers return to the Nerja Caves

The group of experts from the Chauvet Cave in France, who last year studied the paintings inside the Nerja Caves and took samples of carbon and calcite, are back in Nerja to carry out further studies in the caverns.

A successful 54th International Festival of Music and Dance

More than 3,000 people attended the performances and concerts during the 54th International Festival of Music and Dance held from July 24th to July 27th 2013, according to the president of the Nerja Caves Foundation Jorge Hernández Mollar.
