Slalom time…

There seemed to be more than a bit of confusion on changeover day in calle Manuel Marín yesterday with cars ending up parked on both sides of the road, making it a nice slalom course for anyone entering or leaving. They did get themselves sorted by the end of the day, though, and without getting a ticket!

First ‘blue zone’ parking area for Ronda

The Mayor of Ronda, María de la Paz Fernández (PP), has announced the intention to introduce the first ‘blue zone’ parking area in the town, the location being the current ‘free parking’ area of La Concepción.

New ‘blue zones’ in Cártama

Cártama Council has announced the introduction next week of new regulated (blue zone) parking areas to facilitate the rotation of vehicles on the main shopping streets.

Changes to Balcón de Carabeo Car Park rules

Between April 1st and October 21st it is no longer possible for residents to purchase the cheap rate subscriptions for the Balcon de Carabeo Car Park situated in Los Huertos de Carabeo (feria ground), although existing subcribers are able to renew their passes.

Even less public parking

The 273 parking spaces in the Verano Azul underground car park are to become ‘residents only’, the current rotation system set to end under a new municipal ordinance.

New charges for Los Huertos de Carabeo car park

Prices keep on changing at the car park in Los Huertos de Carabeo, the largest parking area in Nerja with 1,000 places, although not so popular since the introduction of charges.

Vélez-Málaga ‘blue zone’ parking system delayed

The so-called ‘blue zone’ paid parking system in Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar will not come into operation until some time in 2012, the Council not wishing to act in haste. The project was only started in 2007.

Carboneras Council forced to close parking area

Carboneras Council has been forced to seal the Los Muertos car park until a dispute with the Department of Environment can be resolved, an action which leaves around 400 people with nowhere to park.

Parking, or free parking to be more precise, is at a premium these days, so a bit of creativity is required. Meanwhile, in calle Manuel Marin, there has always been a small plot of land – very small – where three or four cars have been able to park.
