Almost five years after submitting the preliminary PGOU (General Plan), the Council could be about to initially approve the new document. The PGOU currently in force dates back to 2000.

Marbella amends PGOU to legalise Banderas villa

Marbella Council has approved an amendment to their PGOU (General Plan) in order to legalise the villa owned by Antonio Banderas. The motion was approved by the PP and IU with the PSOE abstaining.

The Councillor for Urban Planning, Inocencia Quintero, has announced that the document to partially adapt the local PGOU (General Plan) to conform to the LOUA (Town Planning Act of Andalucia) has now been referred to the Interdepartmental Committee on Urban Planning and Assessment of the Junta de Andalucia for a mandatory report before its adoption by the Council plenary session.

Marbella has its first PGOU (General Plan) for 24 years and becomes the first city in Andalucia with over 100,000 inhabitants to definitively approve such a document.

Opposition laments ‘no rush’ attitude

The PSOE spokesman in Nerja, Ángel Ramírez, has lamented the fact that the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, does not consider a new PGOU (General Plan) to be a priority. Ramírez believes the statement ‘there is no rush to adopt it’ is a fallacy because the PGOU is an essential tool for shaping the future.

Early electioneering?

The national deputy of the Partido Popular in Málaga, and former Health Minister and Mayor of Málaga, Celia Villalobos is the latest to announce that if the PP wins the regional elections in 2012 then several ‘important’ projects for Nerja will be ‘unlocked’.

La Viñuela PGOU nullified by the TSJA

The Administrative Litigation Division of the High Court of Andalucia (TSJA) has declared null and void the approval by the Council of La Viñuela of their amended PGOU.

Bus station snafu?

Here we go again. The Provincial Delegate for Public Works, Dolores Fernández, has warned the Council that the proposed site for the building of the new bus station is classified as rural land according to the Junta de Andalucía and therefore cannot be built upon.
