Nerja Carnival Procession 2014
The weather had looked a little ominous on Saturday morning, with light rain and cool winds, but it cleared and stayed fine for the annual Carnival procession through the streets of the town.
Out and About February 26th 2014…
The ‘wild’ area behind the restaurant Papagayo on Calahonda beach is being totally cleared and the trees have been reduced to stumps. Guessing this is the location for the new lighting rather than the start of any work to reopen the old walkway.

Seats, walls, railings, the fountain and even the cannons have been receiving a lick of paint or a clean-up recently. The painting of railings along the rio Chillar have also been getting the treatment.

Sunday was a glorious day and there were plenty of people milling about all over town. The bars and restaurants in Plaza de los Cangrejos were very popular, possibly more so than any other part of town, which is surprising in some ways.
Maroween 2013
Chestnuts roasting on the coals, delicious sweet potatoes roasted in their jackets and a square packed with costumed folk having a great time. The daytime Feria celebrations have been taking place in Plaza Tutti Frutti, calle Antonio Millón and surrounding streets, although by far the most popular area has been Plaza Tutti Frutti itself.
