Copper wire thieves arrested in Benalmádena

Local Police in Benalmádena have arrested three people on suspicion of stealing copper wire from within the municipality over the past few months, an act which not only inconveniences the local residents but also drains the municipal coffers.

Car thieves detained

Five people have been arrested, including two minors, in connection with robberies from two vehicles on a street in Serrato.

With the summer come the thieves

As soon as the summer arrives in the Axarquia district, so do the well-organised gangs who pilfer the mango and avocado orchards of the local farmers. In the past two days alone, around 4,000 kilos of fruits have been stolen.

Thefts at San Lorenzo cemetery

Ronda Council has been forced to step up surveillance at the San Lorenzo cemetery following a number of thefts. One of the entrances will be closed at noon each day to try and gain more control over who enters and leaves the premises.

Protest in Montefrío following a wave of robberies

Businesses in Montefrío, Granada, closed for the day on Monday and, in cooperation with the Council, held a protest relating to the wave of robberies hitting the town, despite the fact that the perpetrators are known.

There has apparently been an increase in thefts of replica display phones from mobile phone shops in Málaga, with some shops now reducing the number of items on display.

Four arrested in Torremolinos for making false robbery claims

National Police have arrested four people in Torremolinos during the past month for making false robbery claims in order to collect the insurance money. Between them they claimed for five high-end mobile phones which they had sold prior to reporting them stolen.
